Over the weekend Benton County athletes traveled to Indiana’s Special Olympic state games held in Terre Haute to compete in a variety of events.

The team of athletes did well collecting lots of hardware.

One of the weekend’s highlights was Benton County’s Sabrina Yuill who won five medals in power-lifting. She won the combined which includes bench press, squat and deadlift, but also earned a top prize in a new event in power-lifting. This year the Special Olympics had an event using the Wilks Formula.

The Wilks Formula is a method by which the strength of a Powerlifter is measured against the performances of other lifters of a different weight.

Sabrina was the only athlete to deadlift double their body weight with a 200 pound lift.
