State Road 18 closing on or after Aug. 22 for culvert work near Fowler

INFORMATION PROVIDED

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 18 will close between County Road 500 E. and Co. Rd. 600 E. for culvert work on or after Monday, August 22. The closure, near Fowler, is expected to last until the end of September, weather permitting.

The official detour follows U.S. 52 east to U.S. 231 north.

Then, another portion of S.R. 18 will close on or after Monday, October 3, for culvert work. This section, between Co. Rd. 700 W. and Co. Rd. 800 W., is expected to reopen at the end of October, weather permitting. The official detour follows S.R. 71 south to S.R. 352 east to U.S. 41 north.

This project was awarded to Milestone Contractors, L.P. for $1.7 million. It also involves culvert work on U.S. 231, in White County, and S.R. 26, in Tippecanoe County. The entire project is expected to be finished at the end of October 2022, weather permitting.
