Charlotte R. Mickle, 83, long time resident of Oxford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Greenhill Manor in Fowler.
Charlotte was born to the late Grover and Mary Ladd Morris on May 5, 1939 in Illinois.
She graduated from Oxford High School and Bradley University studying jewelry and watch repair. On August 1, 1965 she married Jim Mickle and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1993.
Charlotte was very active in the Oxford community; she would start her day with a visit to the Dan Patch café. She and her husband Jim owned CJ Gifts in Oxford. Charlotte served on the Oxford Town Board, the first lady to manage the Oak Grove Golf Course and after the death of her husband she was a jailer with the Benton County Jail.
Charlotte is survived by two sons: Rick and Kristi Mickle of Fowler and Steve Mickle of Oxford; two grandchildren: Ariel and Seth Mickle; two brothers: Joe and Glenda Morris and Ed and Carol Morris both of Oxford.
Friends visited Saturday, March 11 at the Fowler Christian Church, 106 N. Madison Avenue, Fowler, IN 47944. Graveside service were also March 11 at the West Oxford Cemetery with Pastor Kirk Zimmerman officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Benton Community Foundation in Charlotte’s memory.
