Jerry L. ‘Bug’ Stacy

 

 

Jerry L. “Bug” Stacy, 49, of Leander, Texas, formerly of Boswell, passed away on Nov. 30, 2021; after a brief battle with cancer.

Jerry was born, May 5, 1972, in Lafayette to the late Gerald L. Stacy and the late Glenna Mae (Winchester) Claire.

Jerry attended Benton Central High School, before enlisting in the US Army where he was trained as a field medic and was Honorably discharged, in 1991.

He married DeAnn Foster on November 18, 1999; she survives.

Jerry loved talking about his grandbabies and his John Deere lawn mower. He spent his spare time painting, building model cars, collecting NASCAR memorabilia and enjoying the outdoors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and outgoing personality. “Bug” never met a stranger.

Jerry is survived by his wife, DeAnn Stacy, of Leander, Texas; four daughters Morgan Stacy (Jason Stevens), of Fowler, Shelby Stinson (Michael), of West Lafayette, Paige Stacy (Ian Flook), of Oxford and Jenny Stacy (Nathan Smith), of Otterbein, four grandchildren, Millie, Savannah and Chase Stinson and Zayne Stevens; two step-children Joe Atha and Elizabeth Atha; brother, Arlis Stacy (Jill), of Oxford; step-father Phil Claire, of Las Vegas, NV; niece, Kristen Stacy and two nephews, Cody (Alison) Stacy and Conner Stacy. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald Stacy and Glenna Claire.

A gathering of Family and friends, to Celebrate Jerry’s Life, will take place from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at the Oxford Lions Club, 708 N. 5th St., Oxford. Casual attire is requested by “Bug’s Family.

A private burial will be at a later date.
