By just two strokes over Western Boone, the Lady Bison golf team won the IHSAA sectional at Harrison Hills Golf Course on Saturday. This is the third sectional championship in School History for a Lady Bison golf team. The Benton Community School Corporation’s school board, at the September 12 meeting, voted to change the starting time for their 2023 meetings to 6 p.m. from 7 p.m. Another change is that there will be one meeting hosted at each of the three BCSC schools during March, April, and May. Benton County lost a political leader and community supporter last week. A long time Republican Party Chairman and County Council representative, Bruce Buchanan passed away on Sept. 15. The 1965 Oxford High School graduate and local farmer was active in the community and received the Sagamore of the Wabash from Governor Holcomb in 2017.

The community is invited to support BC students and Riley Children’s Hospital by attending this year’s Fall Cabaret. Bring the family out to Benton Central for a fun night of entertainment and surprises. Children 4 and under are free.Tickets sold at the door.
